Sales Representative - Trader

Nucor – The David J. Joseph Company is hiring a Trader/Sales Representative based in Cincinnati, OH (with required relocation nationwide), responsible for developing supplier and customer relationships while buying, selling, and brokering scrap and alloy materials. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to travel extensively while building business relationships. Compensation & Benefits • Competitive base pay with bonus program and profit sharing • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, and retirement savings plans • Stock purchase program, credit union access, and free financial planning services • Paid vacation and holidays along with tuition reimbursement and scholarship opportunities • 8–10 week paid training program, mentorship, and company-provided cell phone • Relocation assistance and unlimited career growth opportunities Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; business-related degree preferred • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to build relationships across all levels • Ability to travel 30–60% and willingness to relocate initially and for future advancement based on business needs • Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving ability, and interest in financial and commodity markets • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment • Prior sales, trading, or customer service experience and negotiation skills preferred • Must pass pre-employment drug screening (including urine and hair follicle testing) and maintain commitment to a safe work environment Key Responsibilities • Develop new business opportunities and grow existing relationships with scrap suppliers and customers • Buy, sell, and broker ferrous, nonferrous metals, and ferroalloys to maximize profitability • Collaborate with logistics teams, mills, and third-party partners to manage supply chain and transactions • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms while maintaining strong customer relationships • Monitor market trends and apply insights to trading strategies and business decisions • Travel regularly to meet clients, build partnerships, and support business development efforts • Uphold and promote safety policies, procedures, and standards in all aspects of the role About the Company The David J.
