Using the latest technology in data integration, modelling, engineering, and delivery, you will work directly with front line employees to change decisions and improve business results in safety, cost and production.This is a delivery role and will work directly with end-users, data scientists, data engineers and third-party partners to identify, scope, solution and deliver digital products using agile methodologies.This role is a great opportunity to make an immediate impact on a large, global mining business with a complex value chain by developing solutions the drive significant value-creation and improve sustainability. Reporting to the Team Lead, you willWork with “fusion teams” – cross functional teams of data engineers, data scientists and third-party technology companies combined with end-users (operators, maintainers, supervisors, leaders, engineers) to deliver digital products that change decisions and improve business resultsBuild knowledge, understanding and expertise on our data and software development platformsIdentify and scope potential projects – working from the decision backwards, investigate the problem to be solved the decision to be changed, the data and systems that underpin the business and then architect, design and deliver products that deliver the objectivePerform exploratory data analytics on business processes and operational outcomes in support of project scoping and shapingSolve complex and challenging problems by working closely with operators, maintainers, engineers, and other subject-matter-expertsLearn and apply agile methodologies in the delivery of digital productsAbout YouTo be successful in this role, we are looking forA bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is preferred, but progressive industry experience will be consideredExperience from anywhere – we solve problems related to everything from big machinery to commercial supply chain complexities – and we are looking for people from any industryHighly curious, persistent engineers who want to be a unique personality in our workplaceA life-long learner – we know you won’t know everything – neither do we!Willing to try new things; this is a one-of-a-kind team in Rio Tinto – there is nothing else quite like itA trailblazer – we are always trying new things.
