Our services include care coordination, clinical and pharmacy services, mental health, housing, and nutrition.Position SummaryThe Pharmacy Shipping Specialist plays a key role in supporting retail pharmacy operations by managing the timely and accurate packaging and shipping of prescription medications and over-the-counter products. This position ensures compliance with all pharmacy laws and company procedures, while also providing excellent service to customers who receive medications by mail or delivery.Duties And ResponsibilitiesThis job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. It should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all required duties, responsibilities, and skills.Prepare and package prescriptions for mail-out or local courier in accordance with company standards and state/federal regulationsVerify medication orders and patient information to ensure shipping accuracyCoordinate with patients to collect any out-of-pocket expenses associated with the shipmentCoordinate with pharmacists and technicians to resolve any packaging or label discrepanciesHandle outgoing shipments using courier and postal systems (e.g., USPS, FedEx, local delivery services)Track and document all shipments; notify patients of delivery status when requiredMaintain accurate shipping logs and inventory recordsEnsure safe handling of all medications, including temperature-sensitive or controlled substancesRefill shipping supplies (boxes, labels, tape, packing materials) as neededKeep the shipping area clean, organized, and compliant with company safety protocolsAssist pharmacy staff with other clerical duties as neededEducation And/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior experience in a retail pharmacy or shipping/receiving environment preferredStrong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures preciselyGood communication skills and a customer-first attitudeAbility to stand for long periods and lift less than or up to 30 lbs.Work or lived experience may substitute for education requirements on a case-by-case basis. Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesPossess superior organizational and administrative skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Ability to work independently and achieve high standards of productivity, achieving deadlines and with superior product results. Strong calendaring, organizational, and document management skills required. Proactive approach to solving problems and communicating to leadership. Knowledge of office management systems, procedures, and office equipment required.
