Accounting Analyst

Accounting AnalystDirect Hire role with our client in Somerset, PA. Hybrid position - Individual will need to be on-site 50% of the time. Our client is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support inventory accounting, gross margin analysis, financial reporting, and operational finance initiatives. This individual will play a key role in improving data integrity, supporting process improvements, and delivering actionable financial insights across the business.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and monitor inventory valuationReconcile inventory subledger activity to the general ledgerAnalyze purchase costs, landed costs, freight allocations, and margin trendsInvestigate inventory adjustments, write-offs, and reserve activitySupport cycle counts and physical inventory processesPrepare gross margin reporting and variance analysis by product, customer, and channelSupport month-end close activities including inventory journal entries, accruals, and COGS analysisAssist with management reporting and financial statement flux analysisMaintain and improve cost accounting processes, controls, and data integrityPartner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, FP&A, and ERP teamsSupport initiatives focused on inventory optimization and working capital managementRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or operational financeStrong understanding of inventory accounting and GAAP inventory valuationExperience working within Accounting ERP systemsAdvanced Excel skills including pivot tables, reporting, and data analysisStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to communicate effectively with both finance and operational stakeholdersDetail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and scalabilityComfortable working in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment
