Legal Assistant - Family Law & Adoption Department

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to become a part of our Family Law team in Downtown Fort Myers. We offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits. Minimum 2 years of legal experience preferred in Family Law or similar litigation-heavy practice.Responsibilities: Initial point of client contact. Act as client liaison, including daily client contact and management. Provide administrative and clerical support to our family law attorneys and paralegals. Prepare, revise, and finalize correspondence, documents, and other clerical assignments. Prepare and e-file documents. Maintain attorney calendars/schedules, including court appearances and client meetings. Calendar and monitor deadlines. Maintain electronic client files. Assist with invoicing and collections efforts. Qualifications:2 years minimum litigation experience preferred, family law preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically comfortable talking on the phone with clients, attorneys, and others in order to help manage and progress case load. Ability to take direction and work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to prioritize assignments and work well under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Motivated, with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent word processing and proofreading skills. Passion for helping people and making a positive difference in their lives. Stong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
