Direct Support Professional
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
Support residents with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs
Observe and document patient behavior, health status, and progress while maintaining HIPAA compliance
Operate patient lifts such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe mobility and transfer of residents
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other disabilities
Conduct patient monitoring and observe for any changes in condition or safety concerns
Assist with community outings or activities to promote social engagement and well-being
Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light cleaning duties
Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to ensure resident safety
Requirements
Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care are a plus
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism preferred
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks such as resident transfers using Hoyer lifts
Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assessment
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for working with residents, families, and team members
Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may involve evenings or weekends as needed
Valid driver’s license may be required for community outings or appointments

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
