Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Supervisor, Equipment Maintenance, the Equipment Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and mechanical and electrical systems, evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield. Also performs equipment failure analyses, and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses difficult problems with equipment. Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.Position ResponsibilitiesPerforms minor and major repair of buildings, equipment, machinery. Performs preventive maintenance services on forklifts and light trucksMaintain records of scheduled maintenance proceduresCleans and inspects machinery as requiredCompletes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipmentOperates a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systemInstalls electrical wiring and equipmentRepairs electrical equipment, control circuits, electrical switches, refrigeration equipment, and others as neededAble to lift 35 pounds, walk and stand for long periods, and work in diverse environmental conditionsMust wear protective gear and equipment as requiredPosition RequirementsOne to three years of experience in building mechanical equipment maintenance and repair or education/technical school equivalentHigh School Diploma or equivalentAble to complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklist on building and machinery equipmentAble to work independently with minimal supervisionGood communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsExcellent customer service skills are requiredAble to follow verbal and written instructionsExperience operating computerized controls and monitoring mechanical equipment preferableWork well within a team environmentGood oral and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility and willingness to work flexible, extended hours.Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specificationsAbility to read and interpret production schedulesNortek Air Solutions, LLC, offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
