This role requires hands-on expertise in electrical design, controls systems, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable and efficient operation of automation systems.Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining detailed electrical schematics, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date throughout the equipment lifecycle. The Controls Engineer provides direct shop floor support to the assembly team, assisting with system integration, commissioning, and resolving technical issues that arise during build and production phases.This position also involves research and development activities, including the design and implementation of prototype and test equipment to support new product development and process improvements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and takes initiative in identifying and implementing improvements to existing systems.A strong background in PLC programming and PLC networking is required. The Controls Engineer will develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, as well as configure and maintain industrial communication networks to ensure seamless integration between equipment, sensors, and control systems.The Controls Engineer must thrive in a collaborative team environment while also being self-driven and capable of working independently. A solid background in automated manufacturing systems is essential, along with working knowledge of electrical codes and machine safety requirements. Compliance with OSHA regulations and industry safety standards is a critical component of this role.Successful candidates will combine technical expertise with strong communication skills, enabling effective coordination across engineering, production, and maintenance teams to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performing automation solutions.
