Lead Data/Software Engineer - Azure Databricks, .Net**W2 only** Location: DFW, TX - Hybrid with Onsite Tues, Wed & ThursContract to Hire: Starting at 6-months, 1-2 year total duration expected on contract. Potential for conversion to full-time employment/permanentPay Rate: $75-85 W2Must have 2 years Lead / Team Mentorship experience highly preferred and 8+ years as a hands-on Data Engineer & Application/Software Developer. C#/.Net, Azure, Spark and Databricks experience requiredLead an engineering team delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions, including the Spend Manager Intelligence Platform. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, driving engineering excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Partner closely with Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams to align technical solutions with business goals, mentor engineers, and advance data and AI-driven capabilities using technologies such as Databricks and SparkResponsibilities:Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software and data solutions.Provide technical guidance, solve complex challenges, and contribute to the codebase when needed.Ensure engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and security.Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to deliver business-aligned solutions.Manage priorities, address risks, and communicate progress to stakeholders.Coach, mentor, and develop engineers while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, feedback, and process optimization.Champion AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve engineering efficiency and innovation.Collaborate across Architecture, Engineering, CloudOps, and Security teams.Qualifications:8+ years of Data & Software Development experience required.2+ years leading or mentoring engineering teams preferred.Strong knowledge of modern development practices, including CI/CD, testing, and application security.Proficiency in Python, C#/.NET, and JavaScript.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and scalable system architectures.Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Experience in Agile environments and cross-functional collaboration.Hands-on experience with Spark, Databricks, data pipelines, and large-scale data platforms.Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, lakehouse architectures, and real-time data processing preferred.Exposure to AI/ML technologies and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement preferred.
