Family Household Assistant - Great for Former Nannies + Teachers

Many of our Home Assistants are former nannies, teachers, or experienced homemakers who loved supporting a household but wanted work with less emotional load and more focus on the home itself. No childcare. No evenings. Just thoughtful support that helps homes run smoothly. People who enjoy organizing spaces, improving systems, and creating order tend to thrive in this role. The work includes organizing, laundry, errands, and thoughtful home resets that support the whole household. This is not checklist-based work. You’re expected to notice what needs attention and move through the home with intention—without being told what to do. This is calm, independent work—but you’re still expected to use your time well, stay focused, and complete a full session of thoughtful, efficient work. This role works well for people who enjoy working independently, take pride in creating order, and want something consistent and sustainable. What You'll Do This varies client to client—but you’ll regularly: Handle laundry (wash, dry, fold, organize, store) Tidy and reset the home with care and thoughtfulness Run errands (returns, grocery pickups, donation drop-offs) Do light housekeeping and organizational projects Take initiative—identify what matters most in the home and get it done without direction Document your work clearly and in detail after each session using our app This is not a checklist-based cleaning job. It’s thoughtful, self-directed support inside a client’s home. What You Need to Know Up Front This is independent contractor (1099) work Services are booked per session at a flat rate (not hourly) There are no guaranteed hours—client volume builds gradually based on availability and fit Most assistants begin with 1–2 clients per week and build toward 4–10 weekly households You must be open to eventually serving at least 4 weekly households for this to work You maintain autonomy in how you complete services, while Elevated manages the client account and overall service structure. Service Area Client homes are located throughout Philadelphia, the Main Line, and surrounding suburbs, including: Ardmore Bala Cynwyd Berwyn Bryn Mawr Conshohocken Downingtown Exton Garnet Valley Haverford Lansdale Malvern Media Narberth Newtown Square Springfield Wayne West Chester Wynnewood Ambler and more Clients are offered to you based on your location, availability, and fit—you can choose which households you’d like to take on. Schedule parameters: Weekday daytime services only (rarely do clients request weekends) No evenings Sessions are booked in 4 hour time blocks or two 3-hr time blocks per week. Compensation Flat per-session pay (not hourly) Typically $100 for a 4-hour session or $75 for a 3-hour session (~$25/hour equivalent) Fully booked assistants often earn around $3,200/month Building to that level typically takes a few months and depends on your availability, flexibility with location, and the clients you take on.
