Controller Job Description — Rockhill Orthopaedics We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our medical practice. The Controller will oversee the financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning to support high-quality patient care and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare finance experience, a deep understanding of medical practice operations, and the ability to lead financial strategy while collaborating with clinical and administrative leadership. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to support operational efficiency and compliance Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports Manage the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting for the practice and service lines Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership and physician partners Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements and applicable federal and state tax regulations Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors Support strategic initiatives including service line growth, capital investments, and operational improvements Assist leadership with financial modeling, physician compensation analysis, and practice performance benchmarking Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required CPA preferred; CMA or healthcare finance certification a plus Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in healthcare or medical practice environment Strong knowledge of healthcare financial reporting Experience with physician practice management systems and/or healthcare systems preferred Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong communication and leadership abilities with experience working with physicians and executive leadership Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools Preferred Attributes: High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and follow-through Collaborative leadership style with a service-oriented mindset Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights Experience supporting multi-location or growing practices
