Compensation is not guaranteed and is contingent upon funding availability.Position OverviewThe MSW Clinical Intern will complete a 500-hour field placement focused on developing clinical skills within a trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy setting. This placement provides hands-on experience working with individuals and groups impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and related forms of trauma.Interns will receive supervision from a licensed clinical professional and gain experience in individual therapy, group facilitation, community engagement, and training delivery. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Services (Individual Therapy) Maintain an active caseload of approximately 10–15 clients, based on experience and program needsProvide individual, trauma-informed therapy to clients under supervisionConduct biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to treatment planningDevelop, write, and regularly review individualized treatment plansMaintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and ethical standardsApply evidence-based and culturally responsive therapeutic approachesGroup Facilitation Co-facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups for survivorsAssist in curriculum development and adaptation for diverse populationsSupport group intake, engagement, and evaluation processesCommunity Partnerships & Engagement Collaborate with community partners to support coordinated care for clientsParticipate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultationsAssist in outreach efforts to strengthen relationships with local organizationsCommunity Training & Education Support the development and delivery of community trainings on topics such as domestic violence, trauma, and advocacyAssist in preparing training materials and presentationsParticipate in public education and awareness initiativesPractice Evaluation & Professional Development Engage in ongoing practice evaluation, including self-reflection and incorporation of supervisory feedbackParticipate in outcome tracking and program evaluation efforts when applicableDemonstrate growth in clinical skills, ethical decision-making, and professional identitySupervision & Support Weekly individual supervision with a licensed clinical social workerOpportunities for group supervision and team consultationOngoing feedback and evaluation aligned with MSW program requirementsQualifications Currently enrolled in an accredited Master of Social Work (MSW) programFoundation-level coursework in clinical practice preferredDemonstrated commitment to social justice and working with survivors of violenceStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standardsPreferred Qualifications Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma, domestic violence, or related issuesInterest in community-based practice and advocacyExperience or interest in facilitating groups or trainingPhysical & Emotional Demands Ability to engage in emotionally intensive work with survivors of traumaCapacity to maintain professional boundaries and utilize supervision effectivelyAbility to manage documentation and administrative responsibilitiesVisit our career page at:EEO Statement:Cornerstone strives for a fully inclusive work environment and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, veteran, disability, age, marital or, familial, and/or with regard to public assistance or any other characteristic.
