Java Developer with web services

Overview In this role you will guide performance-focused technology initiatives, helping clients optimize large-scale Java/WebSphere deployments and SOA-based services. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify tuning opportunities, lead proceedings to improve system responsiveness, and shape architectural guidelines. You’ll leverage deep dive analyses to code effective solutions and establish performance processes across technology groups. ResponsibilitiesDrive deep-dive performance analyses of code and configuration to identify tuning opportunitiesPropose and implement code changes and solutions to improve performanceTune WebSphere (WAS) configurations and performance parametersPerform SQL tuning and investigate RDBMS bottlenecks, memory, and network latencyProfile and optimize front-end and back-end performance using browser and APM toolsCollaborate with diverse stakeholders (business, ITS) and lead performance-related processes/guidelinesSupport onboarding of technology teams to established performance processes Key requirementsBachelor degree or foreign equivalent; 7+ years in Java technologies7+ years in Core Java/J2EE applications7+ years in WebSphere (WAS) configuration and performance tuning7+ years in performance tuning of complex web applications and SOA (SOAP Web Services)7+ years in RDBMS and SQL tuning, JVM heap/memory, thread dumps, and network latency analysisExperience with URL profiling using browser debugger tools (F12)Team playerStakeholder managementIndependent work with minimal supervisionJava technologiesWebSphere (WAS) configuration and performance tuningPerformance tuning of complex web applications and SOA/SOAP Web Services
