Software Design & Release Engineer - Body Controls (DC-DC Converter Systems)Location | Allen Park, MI (Hybrid - 4 days onsite)Pay Rate | $42.30/hourWe are seeking a skilled Software Design & Release Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and release of embedded software for 48V DC-DC converter systems within next-generation automotive body control architectures. This role is critical in delivering safe, secure, and high-performance power management software for advanced vehicle electrical systems.The ideal candidate has strong embedded software engineering experience, automotive systems knowledge, and the ability to manage supplier deliverables across the full software lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesLead design, development, integration, and release of embedded software for 48V DC-DC converter modulesTranslate functional, diagnostic, safety, cybersecurity, and performance requirements into supplier-ready software specificationsServe as primary technical interface between Ford and software suppliersReview and approve software architecture, test plans, validation results, and compliance with ASPICE and ISO 26262Monitor supplier development progress, KPIs, and program deliverables to ensure on-time executionSupport software validation, verification, bench testing, and vehicle integration activitiesPerform root cause analysis and resolve software defects across development lifecycleParticipate in design reviews, FMEAs, and cross-functional engineering meetingsEnsure adherence to cybersecurity and functional safety standards for automotive embedded systemsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering, or related field3+ years of automotive embedded software development experienceStrong understanding of ASPICE and ISO 26262 processesExperience with DC-DC converters, 48V vehicle systems, or power electronicsExperience working with automotive suppliers and software release processesStrong problem-solving, communication, and project management skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in engineering disciplineExperience with Ford GPDS tools (WERS, Integrator)Knowledge of UDS, OBD-II, and diagnostic protocolsExperience with DOORS or JAMA requirements toolsExperience in software validation, bench testing, or dyno testingThis role is ideal for candidates seeking embedded software engineer, automotive software engineer, design release engineer, or power electronics software roles in advanced vehicle systems.Click "Apply Now".About Us Advantage Technical connects top- talent in technology, engineering, and technical fields with forward-looking companies.Advantage Technical is an equal opportunity employer.
