Account Executive, Employee Benefits
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Employee Benefits Account Executive to manage and grow a portfolio of employer clients. This role is ideal for a benefits professional who excels at relationship management, strategic consulting, and delivering exceptional service while helping clients navigate complex benefits programs. Other qualities we will look for is detailed oriented, organized, flexible, self-motivated and most importantly a team player.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned employer clients, building trusted, long-term relationships
Manage the day-to-day servicing of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
Lead annual renewal strategy, plan design analysis, and carrier negotiations
Partner with internal service teams to ensure accurate implementation, renewals, and ongoing support
Provide strategic consulting to clients on cost containment, compliance, and employee engagement
Present benefit recommendations and renewal proposals to clients in a clear, professional manner
Stay current on industry trends, carrier offerings, and regulatory changes impacting employee benefits
Identify opportunities to expand relationships through additional services or solutions
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience in employee benefits account management or consulting
Strong knowledge of group health insurance and ancillary benefit products
Proven ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Experience working with carriers, vendors, and internal teams
Proficiency with benefits administration systems and Microsoft Office
Active insurance license (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
Knowledge of compliance areas such as ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA
Ability to travel locally for client presentations, open enrollments, industry conferences, etc.
