Surveyor In Training (SIT/LSIT)

We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) with a strong background in large-scale ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and renewable energy development projects. This position supports Wind and Solar projects across the United States and requires experience in boundary analysis, title review, and high-volume survey production.Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, field crew and project coordination, and a deep understanding of ALTA standards as they relate to utility-scale Wind and Solar developments.Key Responsibilities:Assist RPLS in all phases of ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey projects for Wind and Solar developments nationwidePerform comprehensive deed and title research, including Schedule B exception review and easement analysisConduct boundary analysis, tract breakdowns, and resolve title conflictsVerify field crew layouts and perform field QA/QC for ALTA complianceDraft ALTA plats, boundary exhibits, easement exhibits, and survey deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3DCoordinate with title companies, project managers, and clients to ensure survey requirements are metSupport and manage field crews, providing technical guidance as neededLead office and field tasks, including travel for field work when requiredParticipate in project coordination, scheduling, and reportingTrain less experienced staff and review survey data for accuracy and ALTA complianceRequirements:Valid driver's licenseSurveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or ability to obtain within 1 yearMinimum of 5 years' experience in land surveying, preferably focused on ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and large-scale development projectsDemonstrated experience supporting utility-scale Wind and/or Solar energy projects preferredProficient in AutoCAD Civil 3DStrong understanding of ALTA/NSPS standards and Table A requirementsField experience with GPS and Robotic Total StationsProficient in boundary analysis, legal description writing, deed research, and title commitment reviewExperience working in both rural and large multi-tract project environmentsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferredExperience with MicroStation is a plusDOT experience preferredStrong math, communication, and technical skillsAbility to manage multiple projects across multiple states and work independently or as part of a teamEncompass Services, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
