Production Control Assistant ManagerAt ADVICS Manufacturing Indiana, we are proud to manufacture advanced braking systems that save lives, improving safety and comfort in an environmentally responsible manner.Job PurposeAs the Production Control Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing production control processes. The primary responsibilities will include coordinating production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely delivery of components to support efficient vehicle assembly. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in production scheduling, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration.Objectives of this role:Production planning and coordinationInventory optimizationData analysis and reportingCross-functional collaborationLeadership and team developmentRole ResponsibilitiesDevelop comprehensive production plans to meet customer demand while ensuring resource optimizationContinuously evaluate and adjust inventory levels to align with production requirementsFacilitate communication and collaboration between different departments to address any production-related challengesWork collaboratively with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to align production plans with overall business objectivesIdentify opportunities for process enhancements within the production control functionImplement efficient inventory management techniques such as Just-In-Time (JIT) to minimize excess inventory and reduce carrying costsUtilize data analysis tools to monitor production performance and generate insightful reportsProvide regular reports to management regarding production status, challenges, and achievementsLead a team of production control professionals, providing guidance and mentorshipContribute to cost optimization efforts by minimizing waste, reducing lead times, and implementing efficient production processesIdentify and mitigate risks related to production control, such as supply chain disruptions, inventory shortages, or process inefficienciesRespond to changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, or other variables that may impact production schedules, ensuring adaptability to dynamic manufacturing environmentsEnsure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards in production control processesLeadership Responsibilities:Lead and mentor a team of production control professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environmentProvide guidance for skill development and career growthRequired Competencies:Communication: Work collaboratively with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to align production plans with overall business objectives, fostering effective communication and addressing challenges proactively.Collaboration: Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely execution of production plansInitiative: Implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencyContinuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the production control function and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency continually.People Development: Sets goals and objectives, develop team capabilities and growth, and recognizes achievementsSkills and QualificationsAssociate degree in business, logistics, or related field OR Minimum 2 years of leadership / supervisory experience and minimum 3 years of proven experience in production control, scheduling, or related roles within the manufacturing industryProficiency with Microsoft software systemsProficiency in using manufacturing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.Preferred Skills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field5+ years of leadership / supervisory experienceKnowledge of quality management and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)Experience with OraclePosition Type/HoursThis is a full-time, exempt position that works primarily Monday-Friday, supporting all shifts as needed.Working ConditionsThis position operates in a professional office environment and/or manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Frequently the work environment may be loud, requiring hearing protection.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
