The Sales Manager oversees the daily operations of the sales floor, including managing the sales team, setting performance goals, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include coaching and motivating sales representatives, monitoring lead follow-up, assisting with negotiations, and supporting the completion of vehicle sales. The role involves analyzing sales reports, managing inventory in coordination with other departments, and implementing sales processes that align with dealership objectives. The Sales Manager also collaborates with finance and service teams, participates in dealership marketing and promotional activities, and ensures compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.Qualifications Proven experience in automotive sales or a similar retail sales environment, with prior leadership or management responsibility.Strong skills in team leadership, coaching, and performance management, with the ability to develop and mentor sales professionals.Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service, build rapport, and manage customer concerns in a professional manner.Comfort with sales metrics, forecasting, and basic financial concepts, including gross profit, margin, and inventory turnover.Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication.Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, on-site dealership setting.Familiarity with CRM systems, dealership management software, and standard office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets).High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to a non-discriminatory, inclusive workplace.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on dealership needs.High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary education in business, management, or a related field is a plus.Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, and ability to operate a variety of vehicles safely.Experience in the New Orleans or regional automotive market and bilingual skills are beneficial but not required.
