Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager II to join the Surface Transportation team in our Kansas City, MO office. Join us and help shape the future of engineering and consulting.Here's what you'll do:Perform and lead projects including client management, supervising and directing junior staff in support of the group manager and the team at largeWork with municipalities, county highway departments, and state transportation departments across all our locationsPlanning, design, and project management of transportation projectsWork on a variety of transportation projects including rural highways, city streets, and multi-modal trailsLeadership opportunity availableServe as a client manager or the ability/desire to grow into a client-facing professional capable of delivering high quality products and services to our clientsIdentification and pursuit of business opportunitiesEngagement of clients, agencies, and other professionals within the transportation industryHere is what you'll need:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related field8 years' minimum experience in Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)Demonstrated technical design expertise in transportation projects including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports, and specificationsPrevious project leadership experience requiredKnowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and OpenRoads Designer software packagesStrong technical, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work and lead in a team environmentAbility to manage multiple assignments on a variety of projectsAbility to work in an environment with quick learning plus the initiative to interact with a variety of peopleAbility to mentor and lead junior staffIdeally, you will also have:10 years' experience preferredExperience delivering municipally/community funded projectsExperience and familiarity with American Public Works Association (APWA) standard specificationsExperience in business developmentWillingness to travel as neededValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordPhysical Requirements:Physical demands vary depending on the specific nature of assigned projects.
