Epsilon Systems Solutions, has a job opportunity for a full-time Habitability Mechanical/AC&R Technician II in San Diego, CASummary: The position will provide maintenance and technical support to the customer. Provides technical support on shipboard habitability Mechanical galley and laundry equipment to include associated AC&R systems as a subject matter expert. Use technical documents (JFMM, Instructions, NSTM's, Military standards, Test memos, Test Standards, Drawings and Technical Manuals) that contain information required to accomplish work. This position will be under limited supervision.Duties And ResponsibilitiesAccomplishes mechanical repairs and testing onboard ships and in the shop. Work includes, but is not limited to, removal, repairs, overhaul, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, modifying, and testing on ship’s mechanical systems and components including, but not limited to Carrier 5MH40, 46, 120, York FN32A, RN62-16, and 200,300 Ton; marine reciprocation and centrifugal refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, Henry pack-less valves, thermo-expansion valves, evaporator valves.Utilizes standard mechanic’s tools, wrenches, manifolds, vacuum pumps, recovery equipment, micro gauges, torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators and other precision measuring instruments, fixtures, portable machine tools for drilling holes and grinding, various gauges in the repair, assembly, installation and testing of components or sub-assemblies.Fabricate tubing, fittings, gauge lines, cooler connections.Performs system pressure test and triple evacuation vacuum drop test to validate system for proper operation.Disassembles, cleans, inspects and assess parts and components to determine the extent of wear and damage in justification of recommendations to re-use or dispose of assemblies.Identifies material and parts requirements.Protects machined and/or critical surfaces during removal, install appropriate FME covering on all openings, identify, tag and inspect piping systems, connections, foundations, fasteners and other parts for reinstallation and/or replacement.Follows guidelines and procedures set forth in Formal Work Packages; read, interpret, understand and work to the requirements of NSTM 516 (latest revision), appropriate technical manuals, drawings and blue prints.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 4 years of work related experience performing condition assessments, diagnostic inspections, fault isolation and repairs on the following systems: Galley and laundry equipment to include associated AC&R systems on US Navy and Coast Guard shipsSound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contactsComplete PQS 301 Crafstman qualification within 90 days of hireAbility to read schematics and blue printsAbility to read technical manuals and repair standardsAbility to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions, MRC cards or drawingsAbility to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance/CACPossess and maintain valid EPA universal refrigerant handling card.Pay RangeThe pay range for this role is $26.07 - $32.30 Hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role.
