Primary Purpose:Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing network and computer hardware.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Associate degree in information technology or electronics and/or 48 college hours in the field, preferredA+, Google and/or Windows Certifications, preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of computer workstation (Windows) and Chromebook/Chromebox devicesKnowledge of computer hardware and software applicationsAbility to install, maintain and repair computers and peripheralsAbility to install and maintain network cables and hardwareAbility to diagnose problems and perform repairsProblem-solving skillsAbility to work under stressful situationsAbility to pass a national criminal history checkAbility to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals in a professional mannerExperience:One year work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripheralsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:InstallationInstall and upgrade computers and peripherals throughout the district.Assist with installation of network cabling and network peripherals throughout the district.Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed with proper asset inventory documentation.Install and configure software as needed.Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications circuits and equipment.Assist in managing network resources/administrative systems as assignedEquipment Repair and MaintenanceDiagnose and repair equipment, including projectors, desktops, laptops, and display boards.Service equipment according to an established preventive maintenance schedule.Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance.Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.Technical Support* Aid end users to identify and correct equipment and software related problems.SafetyOperate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, and carrying.Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.Other* Respond to after-hours emergencies as neededMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; personal computers and peripheralsPosture: Prolonged sitting and standing; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb laddersLifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds and over)Environment: Exposure to electrical hazards; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent districtwide travelMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
