Job Title: Document ScannerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on accurately scanning, indexing, and organizing physical documents into a digital document management system. You will handle confidential information with care, ensure documents are properly categorized and searchable, and support administrative workflows by maintaining well-structured electronic records.ResponsibilitiesScan and upload physical documents into the DocuWare document management system.Index and tag documents with key information such as customer names, dates, product names, and product numbers.Ensure PDF files and regulatory documents are accurately categorized, properly named, and easily searchable.Review scanned documents for completeness, image quality, and data accuracy before finalizing.Maintain organized electronic records and filing systems to support quick retrieval and reference.Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and strict attention to detail.Prepare documents for scanning by organizing files, removing staples, and ensuring pages are in the correct order.Perform repetitive administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.Follow established processes and workflows for document management and contribute to process improvements when appropriate.Take clear notes and maintain documentation of work completed, issues encountered, and resolutions.Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed to ensure timely and accurate document processing.Essential SkillsExperience using Adobe Acrobat for working with PDF documents.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness.Excellent organizational skills for managing large volumes of documents and records.Ability to take clear, concise notes and follow established processes and procedures.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and stay focused on repetitive tasks.Comfortable performing repetitive administrative and data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in document management, administrative support, scanning, or records management is a plus but not required.Familiarity with document management systems such as DocuWare is beneficial.General administrative and data entry experience is advantageous.Ability to adapt to evolving processes and technology tools used in document management.Work EnvironmentThis is an on-site position with a Monday through Friday schedule; remote work is not available for this role. Typical hours are approximately 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the option to work between 32 and 40 hours per week depending on business needs and individual availability. You will work in an office environment using DocuWare, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment such as scanners and computers. The role involves handling physical files, preparing documents for scanning, and spending extended periods at a workstation performing administrative and data entry tasks. The contract is open-ended, and with solid performance there may be potential for extension or consideration for a permanent position on another team.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Abingdon, MD.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
