Optical Fabrication Specialist

Job Description
We are looking for an Optical Fabrication Specialist with experience in the development and manufacturing of fiber-based optical devices. This is a crucial role in the fabrication and packaging of optical devices for our design and development process.
As the Optical Fabrication Technician, your responsibilities are:
Work with delicate optical components including manual methods of fabrication and packaging
Visual inspection of optical surfaces and testing of optical components and materials
Monitor and control optical processing equipment
Achieve consistent and quality results by developing and using work instructions and operating procedures. Work within the company quality management system.
Verify accuracy of finished product and support production process development
Maintain safe usage and supply of process chemicals
Maintain and operate within UV safety standards
This position is suited for you if you are familiar with:
Optical device fabrication or other fabrication at the um level
Using manual dexterity to achieve successful results on a consistent basis
Operating automated systems and optical equipment
Quality management system, work instructions, SOPs, and CAPAs · Experience improving production processes
Read and follow written and verbal work instructions and communicate effectively in a team environment
Able to work standing in/near machine tool environment
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree
10+ years of experience in manufacturing at the micron level
Excellent hands-on skills, able to set up and perform tasks in a lab environment
Experience with metrology equipment
Ability to record data in accordance with work instructions
Willing to relocate to St. Louis, MO
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field
Expertise in optical component fabrication, fiber-based devices
Experience with semiconductor equipment
Have worked with medical devices under ISO 13485 quality management system
PCB or SMT assembly
