**Position Description & Qualifications**If you enjoy a rewarding career teaching and helping students achieve success in their careers - Serco has a great opportunity for you!NAVSEA 05S, the Engineering Policy Standards and Development Group for the US Navy's Engineering Division in Washington DC has a Technical Instructor position for their Engineering and Technical Authority class.The successful candidate will work with a 05S representative on the Serco teaching team to support the E&TA curriculum.In this role, you will:+ Provide instruction on various modules of Engineering and Technical Authority class.+ Help lead student discussions of case studies and module reviews.+ Help to create and update courses slides, as required.+ Create teaching scripts/notes for course slides.+ Monitor and respond to student questions in chat and email, as required.+ Help research student questions that are beyond the teachers & facilitators knowledge.+ Take notes of student remarks or required updates to slides, course scripts, or graphics.+ Help create class reports and metrics for classes.+ Assist students with registration for the E&TA class, including working with wait listed students.+ Create and maintain updates to class rosters.+ Create and maintain the E&TA class schedule.+ Maintain the E&TA class web site, as required.To be successful in this role, you will have:+ An active DoD Secret Clearance.+ A Bachelor's degree in engineering or any technical field and 5 years of relevant experience.+ OR an Associate's degree and 7 years of relevant experience.+ Experience in Navy acquisition process or support an in-service shipyard.+ Experienced in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other office tools.+ The ability to travel up to 10%.Additional desired experience and skills:+ Experience with MS Teams preferred.+ Prior teaching experience is a plus.+ Experience in risk management.Job location is largely on Teams with some courses being taught onsite.If you are interested in working on a team supporting our military and sailors and want to be part of a passionate Serco team trying to make a difference, then submit your application now for immediate consideration. This role is covered by the Service Contract Act. For positions on this contract, we will pay the prevailing wage rate for the location in which the employee is working, as determined by the Department of Labor and the Wage Determination (WD). The wage rate will vary depending on the locality.
