Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional

Job SummaryThe Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional supports teachers and students in the classroom by assisting with instructional activities, classroom management, supervision, and student support services. This position helps create a safe, positive, and productive learning environment that promotes student success academically, socially, and behaviorally.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist teachers with daily classroom instruction and activitiesWork with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning conceptsSupport students with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needsAssist with implementing accommodations and modifications for students as directedMonitor and supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, recess, assemblies, and other school settingsHelp maintain a safe, organized, and structured learning environmentPrepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and technology for lessonsAssist students with assignments, organization, and classroom routinesMaintain confidentiality regarding student records and informationSupport positive student behavior and follow school discipline proceduresCommunicate effectively with teachers, staff, administrators, and studentsAssist with clerical duties such as copying, filing, grading, and attendance as assignedParticipate in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainingsPerform other duties as assigned by administrationQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate degree or passing paraprofessional assessment preferred (based on district/state requirements)Experience working with children or in a school setting preferredStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with staff and studentsAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentialityPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and move throughout the school dayAbility to lift and carry instructional materials or classroom suppliesAbility to supervise students in various school environmentsProfessional ExpectationsDemonstrate reliability, professionalism, and punctualityMaintain positive relationships with students, staff, and familiesSupport the school's mission, procedures, and expectationsPromote a respectful, safe, and student-centered environment
