Position Overview:We are seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to join a secure inpatient mental health facility in northwest of downtown Chicago. This is a 1099 opportunity offering excellent work–life balance with no weekends, holidays, or after-hours call. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available.Schedule:Malpractice Insurance: Provided upon hireSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible hours)No weekends, holidays, or after-hours on-callWork Commitment:Part-Time: Minimum 24 hours over at least 3 days per weekFull-Time: 40 hours over 4–5 days per weekDays are flexible as long as required hours are metAverage Caseload: ~25 patients per weekKey Responsibilities:Conduct psychiatric evaluations within required timelines (admissions, 90-day, fitness, and NGRI reports)Document medication changes and complete monthly progress notesReview seclusion and restraint cases at least twice monthlyPerform unit psychiatric evaluations within one week of patient transferMeet with patients monthly to review medications and treatment plansLead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment teamParticipate in peer review, team meetings, and continuing educationMaintain compliance with facility, departmental, and state regulationsQualifications:Current, unrestricted Illinois medical licenseActive Illinois Controlled Substance LicenseActive DEA registration
