Accounting Analyst III

As an Accounting Analyst III, you will play a crucial role in providing expertise and mentorship in compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial information for leadership decision-making. This role ensures compliance with requirements and regulations and is a resource for both internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will also include looking for ways to optimize business processes through technology and automation, improving efficiency and reducing costs. An eye for improvement opportunities with the ability to tackle sophisticated problems are keys to success!Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.Responsibilities/Expectations:Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysisPrepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customersProvides requested documentation and clear explanations for audit processesParticipates in small projects with minimal mentorship and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experienceProcesses and analyses significant amounts of data, including issues and transactionsPrepares and reviews FERC Form 3Q and Form 2 filings as well as XBRL taggingOther duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related major with a strong accounting focus and minimum four (4) years experience in accounting in the energy industryPreferred: CPAOther Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficient use of Microsoft Office applicationsPromotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departmentsStrong analytical, problem-solving and financial skillsPreferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), Manages the planning and direction of more complex activities associated with maintaining the ledger accounts and financial statements. Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions, including coordination and administration assignments with limited guidance. Uses mature judgment to select alternative solutions to complex problems. Provides functional advice and training to less experienced accountant positions. Works under limited direction.
