Key sponsors of the Department work program include PEO Missiles and Space and PEO Aviation (Huntsville, AL), PEO Ground Combat Systems and the Ground Vehicle Support Center (Ann Arbor, MI), JPEO Ammunition and Armament (Picatinny Arsenal, NJ), Army Test and Evaluation Command (Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD) and JPEO Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (Edgewood, MD). The work programs leverage a diverse set of technical disciplines from within the Department and across the corporation to maximize our impact in solving some of the Army’s toughest modernization challenges in the areas of Agile software development, Cyber resiliency, directed energy, digital engineering, autonomous systems, and command and control.Job Description:The Army Platform Department is seeking a technically deep and operationally-oriented Project Leader for the PEO Missiles and Space project located in Huntsville, AL. The project leader will be responsible for delivery of innovative high-impact/high-quality solutions for our sponsor’s critical mission problems while also building and growing sponsor relationships. The current project focuses on model-based systems engineering, digital transformation, digital engineering, cybersecurity, and independent assessments. This position is open to qualified lead step and above applicants.Roles & Responsibilities:Primary interface to multiple senior sponsors within PEO Missiles and SpaceBuild and maintain relationships with PEO MS’s senior leadersDefine and lead fast-paced, high impact work in the areas of systems engineering, concept development, cyber security, prototyping and integrationStaff and lead a diverse 4 staff year MITRE teamGrow MITRE support in high-impact areas that we currently do not have direct supportEnable the sponsor’s mission through the delivery of concise, impactful technical deliverables, briefings, reports, and Executive level recommendations to senior sponsorsCollaborate external to MITRE with PEO MS and their stakeholders (e.g., Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I), Air and missile defense Cross Functional Team (CFT) as well as contractorsCollaborate internally with MITRE Project Leads, Department Manager, and Chief EngineerThrough deep understanding of PEO MS mission, provide thought leadership and clear, timely, actionable recommendations in multiple areas focused on systems engineering, Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), and cybersecurity strategies. Basic Qualifications:Typically, requires a minimum 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experienceDegree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplineExtensive experience with Mission Engineering, System of Systems Engineering, and Digital EngineeringFamiliarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering artifacts in SysML or UMLFamiliarity with cyber security strategiesKnowledge of Integrate Air and Missile Defense missionExperience working with DoDAdept at clearly communicating concise, actionable recommendations to Senior LeadersExperience leading multi-disciplinary teamsActive Secret ClearanceThis position requires an onsite presence of 5 days a weekPreferred Qualifications: Experience working with the ArmyKnowledge of Army systems and Program Managers especially in the areas of systems engineering, cyber security, and interoperabilityExperience developing Model-Based Systems Engineering artifacts in SysML or UML and leading teams focused on System of Systems Engineering and integrationExperience with AGILE frameworkTop Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCIThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):SecretThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCIWork Location Type:OnsiteMITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
