LocationOrange County, CA (Remote, Hybrid)IndustryPharmaceutical / Life Sciences ManufacturingPosition SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, and supporting the company’s financial operations in a multi-entity pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role manages the monthly close process, prepares financial statements, supports payroll, and commissions processing, and maintains inventory accounting and internal controls.The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with inventory accounting and costing, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, growing life sciences organization. Experience with inventory systems and platforms is preferred; however, strong conceptual understanding of inventory management and costing is sufficient, as systems can be learned.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & Monthly Close• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. • Manage full-cycle monthly closing, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis. • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation.Financial Reporting & Analysis• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Analyze financial data and trends to support management decision-making. • Monthly Reconciliations; Prepare ad hoc financial reports and support special projects as required.Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable• Manage AP and AR processes, including vendor setup and maintenance. • Ensure accurate and timely vendor payments and customer invoicing.Inventory Accounting & Systems• Maintain inventory accounting records, including costing, valuation, and reconciliations. • Support inventory management system maintenance and reporting. • Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with financial records.Internal Controls & Compliance• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. • Support audit requests and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.Process Improvement & Collaboration• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Finance) to improve accounting processes and efficiency. • Apply technical accounting knowledge to support operational and financial initiatives.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required).• CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred.Experience• 4–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, life sciences, or inventory-driven environments. • Experience with inventory accounting, costing methodologies (FIFO, standard costing, weighted average, etc.), and inventory reconciliations. • Experience with ERP or inventory management platforms (e.g., Cin7, NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) preferred.Skills & Competencies• Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles. • Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills. • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills. • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup or growth-stage environment. • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environments. • Prior experience supporting commissions, royalty reporting, or complex revenue streams. • Experience with internal controls and audit support.
