Quality Control Specialist
Quality Control Specialist Our firm is representing a leading innovator in the health and wellness sector that specializes in doctor-formulated herbal supplements. We are seeking a meticulous Quality Control Specialist to join their Clearwater production facility. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in ensuring that raw botanical materials and finished products meet the highest safety, potency, and physical integrity standards.
As a key member of the QC team, you will ensure total compliance with regulatory standards. You will be responsible for everything from raw material verification to final product release, ensuring that every unit delivered to the consumer is safe and effective.
Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing, packaging, and labeling operations adhere to 21 CFR Part 111 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Production Oversight: Perform hourly inspections of the manufacturing line to verify pouch weights, seal durability, and moisture levels.
Botanical Analysis: Inspect incoming herbs, vitamins, and flavorings to ensure identity, purity, and strength conform to internal sensory and safety specifications.
Documentation Management: Review and approve Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs) and Batch Production Records (BPRs) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Laboratory & Product Testing: Oversee sampling and testing for microbial contaminants and heavy metals in accordance with validated USP methods.
Defect & Deviation Management: Document and investigate Out-of-Specification (OOS) results; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Equipment & Facility Care: Verify sanitation procedures are followed and ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained as per schedule.
Sample Retention: Manage a library of retain samples for shelf-life testing and quality audits.
Supplier Oversight: Evaluate raw material components to ensure they are accompanied by Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and meet requirements.
Qualifications & Skills: Experience: 2+ years of Quality Control experience within the Dietary Supplement, Food, or Beverage sectors.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 111, FDA food safety regulations, or FSMA standards.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using precision scales, moisture analyzers, and digital documentation tools like Excel or ERP systems.
Sensory Accuracy: Ability to distinguish subtle variations in aroma, texture, and flavor profiles to ensure brand consistency.
Analytical Skills: Ability to review supplier reports and verify that raw materials match expected values.
Physical Requirements: Ability to commute to the Clearwater, FL facility daily for an on-site, first-shift schedule.
