Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Florissant, MO

Provide skilled nursing care in a dynamic Med Surg, Oncology, and Neuro Surgical Recovery setting on the 3 West General Surgery unit. This night shift role (1900-0730) requires a compassionate, patient-focused RN with at least one year of inpatient Med Surg experience who thrives in a team-oriented environment.Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluationMonitor post-surgical and trauma patients, coordinating care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomesMaintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality in line with nursing standards and facility policiesOperate specialized equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, wound vacs, and telemetry monitorsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to adapt care plans based on patient needs and unit workflowAdhere to dress code requirements, wearing black scrubs and Mercy M Wear onlyQualifications & Desired Experience:Current RN license eligible or active in MissouriMinimum 1 year inpatient Med Surg experienceBLS certification from AHA required; ACLS and TNCC preferredAbility to float to other units as staffing demandsStrong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered careAssignment Details:Location: Florissant, MOUnit: 30-bed Surgical Unit with diverse patient population (GI, GU, Plastics, Orthopedics overflow)Nurse to patient ratios typically range 1:6-7 on nightsShift: Nights, 1900-0730Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (specify on application)Assignment length: 13 weeks, with flexible scheduling optionsNo call required; weekend coverage as scheduledFlu vaccination or approved exemption required from Nov 1-Apr 1Location Highlights: Florissant offers easy access to the greater St. Louis metropolitan area, rich with cultural attractions including the iconic Gateway Arch, vibrant entertainment districts, and renowned local cuisine.
