DescriptionThe Facility and Leasing Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating facilities management and retail leasing functions to ensure all stores and head office facilities are safe, compliant, well‑maintained, and commercially optimised. The role ensures effective landlord engagement, lease administration, maintenance management, store role out/closures/relocations support and team leadership in support of profitable retail operations.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities ManagementLead and oversee day‑to‑day facilities operations across all retail stores and head office locationsEnsure timeous maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance programmesManage service providers and contractors, ensuring SLA compliance and cost controlEnsure compliance with health & safety, municipal regulations, and statutory requirementsRespond to and resolve escalated facilities issues impacting store operationsManage facilities-related CAPEX and OPEX budgetsLeasing & Property ManagementSupport lease negotiations, renewals, relocations, and store openings/closuresMaintain accurate lease administration records, critical dates, and escalation schedulesLiaise with landlords, property agents, and managing agentsMonitor rental escalations, recoveries, and occupancy costsProvide leasing insights and reports to support commercial decision-makingStore Projects Ensure the smooth rollout of all project-related initiatives and improvements Manage contractors, including overseeing store closures where required Oversee all aspects of store relocations and right-sizing initiatives Ensure project timelines and deadlines are consistently met in line with approved programmes Drive cost-effectiveness across all projects and related activitiesTeam LeadershipLead, coach, and develop the Facilities and Leasing teamAllocate work, monitor performance, and ensure service delivery standardsBuild a customer‑centric service culture supporting store operationsReporting & GovernancePrepare and present facilities and leasing reports (costs, risks, performance)Ensure proper documentation, audit readiness, and record‑keepingSupport internal controls and compliance requirementsRequirementsMinimum RequirementsDiploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Property Studies, Built Environment, or related field5+ years’ experience in facilities and/or retail property management2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or team leadership roleProven experience working with retail landlords, leases, and service providersStrong budgeting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsValid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationallyKey CompetenciesRetail operational understandingLeadership and people managementNegotiation and commercial acumenProblem-solving and decision-makingHigh attention to detail and complianceStrong communication and relationship management skillsAdvantageousExperience within a multi-store retail environmentKnowledge of South African property and leasing practicesExposure to store rollouts, refurbishments, or relocationsClosing Date: 13 May 2026Work LevelJunior ManagementJob TypePermanentSalaryMarket RelatedEE PositionYesLocationJHB North
