We are currently seeking a high-level Chief Scientific Officer to lead technical operations and manage laboratory staff.The RoleWe are seeking a visionary and technically elite Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to lead our scientific strategy and clinical development. As the top scientific executive, you will oversee the research, development, and validation of new diagnostic assays, ensuring that Granger Genetics remains at the forefront of the industry.RequirementsEither an MD Pathology or a PhD with appropriate board certification to meet CLIA and NYCLEP requirements (or eligible to obtain)2+ years of experience working in a clinical laboratory environment2+ years of experience in directing and supervising a high-complexity testing laboratoryExperience with clinical regulatory requirements is a mustExperience with creating and setting up assaysKey ResponsibilitiesScientific Strategy: Define and execute the long-term scientific roadmap for the company, identifying emerging trends in genetics and molecular diagnostics.Assay Development: Lead the team in the design, development, and clinical validation of Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs).Regulatory Leadership: Ensure all laboratory operations and new tests meet or exceed CLIA, The Joint Commission, and state regulatory standards.Clinical Collaboration: Partner with the Medical Director and executive leadership to align scientific capabilities with clinical needs.Advocacy: Represent Granger Genetics at scientific conferences and in publications to establish the company as a thought leader in the field.QualificationsEducation: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a closely related field.Experience: 4+ years of progressive leadership in a clinical laboratory or biotech setting, with a proven track record of bringing diagnostic products to market. Have problem solving skills, attention to detail and a sense of urgency.Technical Expertise: Experience developing and validating analytical assays for high-complexity testing. Experience with ELISA, enzyme chemistry, and molecular testing using traditional or digital PCR, microarray, and other multiplexed platforms is desired.Certification: Board certification (e.g., ABMGG or ABB) is highly preferred to serve as a high-complexity Laboratory Director if needed.Leadership: Strong ability to mentor scientific staff and communicate complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
