Job Title: Python Developer (Ex-Capital One) Location: Richmond, VA- Hybrid Employment Type: W2 Contract Only ### Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with previous experience at Capital One to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of financial services, a strong background in Python development, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms, data engineering, and agile methodologies. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying robust software solutions that drive business outcomes and align with industry best practices. ### Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain high-quality Python code for back-end services, data processing, and automation tasks. - Leverage your experience at Capital One to provide insights into best practices for financial services software development, data security, and cloud-native solutions. - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, DevOps, and product managers, to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver on project objectives. - Build and integrate APIs, data pipelines, and cloud services using Python and modern frameworks. - Write clean, efficient, and testable code, following software development standards and ensuring code quality through peer reviews. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, applying Scrum principles to improve team productivity. - Deploy and manage cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), leveraging your knowledge of cloud services gained during your tenure at Capital One. - Implement data security best practices, ensuring compliance with financial regulations. ### Qualifications: Required Skills/Experience: - 2+ years of experience at Capital One as a Python Developer or in a similar role. - 5+ years of experience in Python development, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming. - Experience in financial services or fintech, preferably with an understanding of banking operations, credit risk, or regulatory compliance. - Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), including services like Lambda, EC2, S3, and serverless architectures. - Strong experience with data engineering tools and techniques, such as ETL processes, data pipelines, and database management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL). - Familiarity with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban. - Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines. - Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. #pythonDeveloper #Excapitalone #Virginiajobs #immediate Job Type: Contract Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: Health insurance Compensation Package: Hourly pay Schedule: 8 hour shift Experience: Python: 6 years (Required) Ability to Commute: Richmond, VA 23219 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Richmond, VA 23219: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Richmond, VA 23219
