Java Developer w/AI experience

Overview In this role you will lead the end-to-end delivery of production-grade Java Spring Boot-based solutions, leveraging microservices, GraphQL/REST APIs, and AWS. You will drive architectural decisions, enforce engineering standards, and ensure secure, observable, highly available services. You’ll work on authentication, authorization, and robust incident readiness, shaping scalable platform capabilities. This position emphasizes AI-assisted development (Claude Code / Copilot) to accelerate delivery while maintaining security and quality. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, cloud-native solutions that align with the company's technical and operational goals. ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of full-stack Java Spring Boot solutions on AWS, from design to production supportDrive architecture reviews, define service boundaries, API contracts, data models, and integration patternsDevelop secure, high-quality code; conduct code reviews; set and enforce engineering standardsBuild and maintain scalable, observable services with focus on reliability and performanceImplement and govern authentication/authorization using OIDC/OAuth2 and service-to-service securityEstablish observability, incident preparedness, and runbooks for operational readinessEvaluate vendor and internal solutions for fit, security, scalability, and operability; guide adoption decisions Key requirementsMinimum 12+ years of production software engineering experience with senior/lead capacityJava Spring Boot expertise for API development, DI, validation, error handling, and performance tuningGraphQL proficiency: schema design, resolvers, federation, performance, governanceREST proficiency: OpenAPI contracts, pagination, idempotency, backward compatibility, API evolutionOIDC/OAuth2 hands-on implementation with JWTs and secure access controlAWS hands-on design, deployment, and operation of cloud-native apps; IAM and networking basicsData layer: AWS Aurora PostgreSQL advanced SQL and indexing; AWS Neptune graph modelingEvent-driven systems: AWS MSK (Kafka) topics, partitions, consumer groups, schema evolution, reliabilityCI/CD and quality: Git, automated testing, code quality gates, feature flags, progressive rolloutAI-assisted engineering: proficiency with Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilottechnical leadershipdesign ownershipproblem solvingJava Spring BootGraphQLREST
