Design & Build Foreman
Position Summary The Design & Build Foreperson is responsible for leading and managing a residential landscape installation crew of 3–5 associates. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to ensure high-quality project execution, accurate daily reporting, and excellent client service. The Foreperson oversees installation work, directs crew activities, and ensures projects are completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Essential Functions Landscape Installation & ConstructionConstruct retaining walls, paver patios, walkways, and other hardscape featuresInstall softscape elements including plantings, garden beds, and landscape materialsWork on high-end residential properties, maintaining quality standardsCrew Leadership & SupervisionLead, assign, and direct daily work for a crew of 3–5 employeesTrain team members on proper installation techniques and safety practicesBalance workloads and ensure efficient task completionInspect completed work and ensure quality standards are metClient Communication & DocumentationCommunicate with clients regarding project progress and expectationsMaintain accurate daily worksheets and job documentationEnsure clear communication between crew members and managementEquipment & OperationsOperate and oversee the use of landscape construction equipment (e.g., Bobcats)Assist with general site operations including material handling and setupSupport peak season operations as neededQuality & ProductivityEnsure projects are completed efficiently and meet company standardsMonitor workflow and adjust as needed to maintain productivityAssist with problem-solving on job sitesDuties may or may not be subject to changeQualifications Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of experience in residential landscape installationSkills and Competencies Knowledge of:Natural stone, timber retaining walls, brick, and paversTrees, shrubs, and perennial plant materialsExcellent communication and people skillsBasic understanding of irrigation systems and repairsExperience operating landscape equipmentAbility to read, write, and follow instructionsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsMeet all physical requirements of the position.Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations.18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required.Legally authorized to work in the United States. This role is based in an office environment with occasional remote work flexibility. The position may require limited travel.
