Substitute Instructor

Substitute TeacherThe substitute will assume the day-to-day responsibilities during the absence of the regular classroom instructor. Substitute employees are employed on an as-needed basis and are not guaranteed a set number of hours / days.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Maintains a safe classroom environment conducive to effective learningMaintains professionalism while supervising studentsApplies all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment and facilitiesAbility to work with other staff membersKeep all students in the classroom under supervision at all timesDemonstrate flexibility and preparedness to monitor various educational levels and subject areas.Ensure district policies are observed during all activitiesBecome familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, severe weather procedures, and tornado warning proceduresTake attendance in accordance with school policyMaintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)Follow instructions provided by the regular instructor and administration.Education: High School Diploma or GED requiredSkills:Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing classroom environments.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students.Strong classroom management and student supervision skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Salary Information: $25.00 / hour
