This full-time, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning to adult patients in an outpatient setting.As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and support staff, you will help deliver patient-centered mental health services that promote stability, resilience, and long-term wellness. St. Mary’s Healthcare has a 100+ year legacy of serving the Fulton/Montgomery County region with exceptional, mission-driven care.Position HighlightsFull-time, hospital-employed outpatient position.Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and medication managementOpportunity to work onsite with flexibility for occasional telehealthJoin a supportive, integrated behavioral health teamAccess to a strong referral network and EMR integrationResponsibilitiesConduct psychiatric assessments and psychodiagnostic evaluations for adult patientsProvide ongoing medication management, monitoring therapeutic response and side effectsDeliver care through both in-person and telehealth visits as clinically appropriateMaintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with state and federal requirementsCollaborate with behavioral health providers, primary care, and community partners to ensure coordinated careParticipate in case conferences, quality initiatives, and team-based discussionsProvide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and wellness strategiesInitiate referrals to additional medical or mental health providers as neededQualificationsRequired Credentials – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed (or eligible for licensure) in New York State. BLS Provider certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)Preferred Experience – Outpatient Psychiatric Experience Preferred But Not RequiredSkills - Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently. Experience with medication management, crisis intervention, and patient-centered care.
