OverviewSystems Engineer (Program Acquisition Support)LOCATION: El Segundo, CAJOB STATUS: Full-timeCLEARANCE: Top Secret w/SCI eligibilitySALARY: $160,000 to $175,000Astrion is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the Space Systems Integration Office Space Integration Branch located at Space Systems Command (SSC), Los Angeles AFB, CA.This role combines program acquisition support with technical expertise to ensure the successful development, integration, and deployment of space system-of-systems capabilities across the SSC portfolio and the USSF Space Enterprise.Seeking a proactive and highly organized Program Acquisition Support Specialist to provide direct, hands-on support to a government contract onsite for 4+ days/week. The primary role of this function is to relieve the Program Manager of managerial burdens of the contract and to fulfill the day-to-day execution of contractual processes while ensuring all administrative tasks run smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations; thus, allowing the Program Manager and leadership to focus on strategic objectives.Required Qualifications / SkillsB.S. STEM Degree in Engineering, Physics, Earth Science, Mathematics, Operations Analysis, or related field. 5+ years, exceptions considered based on demonstrated experienceProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel); adaptable to new analytical tools. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel as required. Preferred Qualifications / SkillsExperience with space acquisition(military, contractor, or DoD civilian) as a SETA. Familiarity with the DoD acquisition lifecycle. Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and modern software engineering principles. Experience with specific government mission areas, particularly related to kill chain engineering. Support Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Digital Engineering (DE) in support of U.S. Space Force (USSF). ResponsibilitiesTechnical Systems EngineeringFamiliarity with System-of-Systems (SoS) and Federation-of-Systems (FoS) solutions under operational scenarios to recommend modernization updates. Perform trade studies and assessments of candidate mission systems, recommending changes to surface, air, and space systems. Design, develop, and test critical software applications throughout all phases of product development and operational deployment. Collaborate with Systems Engineers and Government Customers to define lifecycle requirements and ensure robust software design using a test-driven approach. Acquisition Process ManagementDirectly manage and execute administrative processes across the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements definition, market research, post-award contract modifications, and closeout. Prepare, review, and manage acquisition documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain a complete repository of contractual paperwork. Program Tracking and ReportingManage program schedules, track milestones, monitor deliverables, and prepare regular performance reports to keep leadership informed and the contract on track. Administer program budget tracking, prepare financial reports, and maintain expenditure records to support the government PM. Stakeholder CoordinationAct as a primary technical and administrative point of contact, facilitating communication and ensuring alignment between government personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders. Digital Engineering and ToolingSupport the development and use of digital engineering tools, including functional installation, setup, and maintenance of M&S software within SSC's digital environment.
