We build mission critical systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other commercial customers. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set encompassing software testing, troubleshooting, programming, and secure communications. They will be proficient in diagnosing and resolving software issues on various devices and platforms, with a keen understanding of networking and PKI principles. The candidate should be a capable programmer with experience in Linux environments. This role will require interfacing with customers, military personnel, and other system engineers to perform tests, attend integration events, and troubleshoot issues onsite.ResponsibilitiesThe preferred candidate has experience with software development and software engineering principlesCode and test software based upon software specifications and designsValidate and troubleshoot software behavior on a variety of devices and platforms to ensure compatibility and reliabilityConfigure and optimize networking components to ensure reliable and secure communication between systemsAnalyze and study complex system requirementsCollaborate with software developers to identify and resolve bugs, issues, and performance bottlenecksInterface with partners, end users, and system engineers to gather requirements, perform tests, and provide technical supportAttend integration events and participate in field tests to validate software functionality and integration with tactical devices and networksDebug and diagnose issues onsite, including problems between servers and clients, and make relevant suggestions or fixes to ensure proper software operationAssist with deployment of applications and establish protocols for QA and operational supportProvide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on software integration and troubleshooting best practicesRequirementsQualifications:3+ years of Software Engineering experience Proven experience in software integration, testing, and troubleshooting on client devices and systemsProgramming skills with experience in at least one programming language, Golang a plusProficiency with Linux environments and command-line tools for software development and debuggingExperience with secure communication protocols (e.g., PKI, TLS/SSL) and device networking.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issuesWillingness to travel and work onsite at integration events and partner sites as neededStrong language/communication skillsMust be a US citizenMust pass a background check and drug screeningQualities Of Exceptional CandidatesProficiency in backend programming and engineering principlesExperience with tactical devices and networks, particularly in a military context, would be highly advantageousExperience with containerization and software deploymentHands-on experience with cloud platformsExperience working with teams of engineers within the Agile frameworkBackground Screening/Check/InvestigationSuccessful completion of a background screening/check/investigation will/may be required as a condition of hire.AdaSherpa 6 will make reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act 1990Eeo/AaSherpa 6 does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, height, weight, or marital status in employment or the provision of services and is an equal access/opportunity/affirmative action employer.BenefitsWe offer a competitive benefits package, covering the cost of medical for you and your family; we also offer dental, vision, health and wellness benefits and a generous retirement savings plan.
