Tennis Camp Nurse

DescriptionJUNIOR TENNIS CAMP NURSEKey ResponsibilitiesDay to day responsibility for implementing Thoreau Jr. Tennis Camp's Health Care Plan. This includes providing First Aid, individual health care, administering and managing medications, collaborating with external health care providers and communicating with parents/guardians/staff.Maintaining accurate and confidential health records and documentationDuring emergencies, lead and coordinate the camp's response from a healthcare perspective to provide for the health and safety of campers and staff. Review camper and staff Health History Forms. Check for observable evidence of illness, injury, or communicable disease. Set up and maintain the nurse's station and infirmary room.Recommend management and purchasing of supplies, and medication storage Maintain and follow state medical and treatment regulations.Manage and handle the collection, storage and distribution of all medications.Administer prescribed medication to support the recovery and/or maintenance of a camper's or staff member's health.Maintain accurate and up to date camp health logs in compliance with the Massachusetts Camp Regulations. Keep records of any health/medical treatment administered.Report, to the appropriate parties, all incidents resulting in injury requiring professional medical treatment. Complete injury/accident documentation according to Massachusetts Camp Regulations.Communicate and coordinate, as appropriate, with parents/guardians/staff regarding a camper's or staff member's health care issues.Other DutiesConsult with the camp director in the overall operation of the campMake activity recommendations and protocols relevant to extreme weather conditions QualificationsLicensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of MassachusettsCurrent BLS CPR, First Aid certificationExperience in working with children Experience working with youth athletes or as a school nurseAbility to interact with multiple age levels and coaching staffSchedule RequirementsThe camp season runs from June 22 - August 21, 2026. Hours are 8:45am - 3:00pm. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit to the full nine-week season, however consideration will be given to those who are able to commit to at least six weeks
