Intellectual Property Attorney
LHH is partnering with a valued law firm client to identify an experienced Contract Intellectual Property Attorney to support a sophisticated and dynamic IP practice. This role will focus on strategic IP counseling, portfolio development, and transactional matters, with a particular emphasis on emerging technologies, including fintech and artificial intelligence.This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with innovative clients ranging from early-stage companies to established organizations across a diverse range of industries.Key Responsibilities• Advise on IP strategy, including portfolio development and commercialization aligned with business goals• Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications, with a focus on AI, and related technologies• Conduct IP due diligence for financings, M&A, and investment transactions• Provide guidance on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity matters• Draft and negotiate IP and technology agreements, including licensing and software-related contracts• Counsel clients on IP issues related to emerging technologies, including AI and data usage• Manage global IP portfolios and coordinate with foreign counsel• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex legal and business mattersQualifications• J.D. and active U.S. bar admission• 4+ years of IP experience, including patent prosecution and counseling• Experience with fintech, AI, or emerging technologies• Technical background preferred (e.g., CS, engineering, or related field)• Experience handling domestic and international IP matters• Strong drafting and negotiation skills for IP/technology agreements• Familiarity with data, software, and emerging tech issues• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAnticipated pay rate range: $120 per hour to $140 per hour DOEEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://www.lhh.com/us/en/candidate-privacyThe Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:• The California Fair Chance Act• Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance• Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers• San Francisco Fair Chance OrdinanceBenefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
