NATP Instructor DSD$29.87 - $40.57 per hourUnder the Direction of the Nurse Assistant Training RN Program Director (NATP) provides quality instruction for students with the objective of qualifying them for a California Certified Nursing Assistant license.Responsible for developing class curriculums and maintaining an organized, disciplined classroom environment.This includes an education program that is conducive to learning and imparts the requirements of the relevant workplace setting to existing students. Assists Director of Staff Development and Education Department Manager in creating policies and procedures as it relates to CNA job responsibilities.Serves as an educational resource for staff and management.QUALIFICATIONS And SKILLS Current California Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse license. A minimum of one year's experience in long-term care and/or DSD certificate. A minimum of two years of experience as a Clinical Educator preferred. A minimum of one year's experience in an administrative position. Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Mid-level computer knowledge. Knowledge of learning theories and models. Ability to operate equipment: projectors, audiovisual equipment, cameras, other equipment used in instruction and patient care. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Flexible with ability to multi-task. Certification as an instructor in BLS preferred.SUMMARY OF ROLES And RESPONSIBILITIESThis role maintains subject-matter expertise and delivers meaningful, compliant instruction that prepares students for entry-level CNA positions. The instructor provides clear syllabi and handbooks aligned with CDPH and California Title 22, uses diversified teaching methods and assessments (lectures, labs, discussions, projects, practicum), manages the classroom effectively, fosters motivation and positive engagement, and stays accessible through meetings and mid-module conferences with formal evaluations. The instructor will keep accurate educational and attendance records, report issues promptly to the NATP RN Program Director, support retention, train on the eight medication rights, and ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations while safeguarding patient/resident and employee confidentiality. The role also involves ongoing professional development, staying current with industry trends, assisting with textbook selection and career guidance, serving as an educational resource, participating in CQI and staff meetings, and representing the organization ethically and professionally while communicating its mission and goals.
