Banterr Field Activation Lead

Our core feature, Who’s Who, lets people in the same venue see who else is there and break the ice in real life. We’re building density cluster-by-cluster — Gold Coast, Lakeview, Wrigleyville, Northwestern — and we need someone who can make the activations actually happen.The RoleYou’ll own the on-the-ground execution of Banterr’s activation calendar. That means turning ideas like trivia nights, bar takeovers, campus pop-ups, and community events into booked, staffed, promoted, and packed rooms. The goal is simple: prove the Who’s Who usage occasion by getting real people in real venues using the app together.What You’ll Actually Do• Source and pitch bars, restaurants, and venues in our target neighborhoods for recurring activation slots (trivia nights, themed events, takeovers)• Cold outreach to venue managers, GMs, and event coordinators — and follow up until you get an answer• Coordinate logistics: dates, run-of-show, prizes, signage, host/MC, photographer• Build a pipeline of campus ambassadors and Greek life contacts at Northwestern, DePaul, Loyola, U Chicago• Recruit and brief street teams for event nights• Partner with micro-influencers and local community groups (run clubs, social leagues, alumni groups) for co-hosted events• Track everything in a simple pipeline — who you contacted, when, status, next step• Show up to events to make sure they run wellYou’re a Fit If You• Live in Chicago and know the bar/nightlife scene firsthand• Have done event promotion, brand activations, experiential marketing, or campus marketing before — bonus if it’s for a consumer app, beverage brand, or nightlife concept• Are relentless on follow-up. Most of this job is getting people to respond.• Can write a venue pitch email that doesn’t sound like a template• Have an existing network of venue contacts, promoters, or campus reps (huge plus)• Are organized enough to run a pipeline without being micromanagedLogistics• Contract, part-time to start (~15–25 hrs/week), with room to grow as we scale clusters• Mix of remote work and in-person event nights• Compensation: hourly + performance bonuses tied to confirmed activations and attendance numbers (open to discussing structure)• Start: ASAPThis role has real room to grow.
