Backstage Developer / Platform Engineer
Job Title: Backstage Developer / Platform EngineerJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Backstage Developer with strong experience in building and customizing developer portals and internal developer platforms using Backstage. The ideal candidate will have expertise in React, TypeScript, Node.js, and cloud-native technologies, along with hands-on experience in platform engineering and DevOps ecosystems.This role will focus on designing, developing, and enhancing Backstage plugins, integrations, and developer experience solutions to improve engineering productivity and streamline software delivery processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain Backstage-based internal developer portals. Build and customize Backstage plugins, templates, and integrations. Implement and manage Software Catalog, Scaffolder, and TechDocs features. Integrate Backstage with CI/CD tools, cloud platforms, monitoring systems, and source control platforms. Collaborate with platform engineering, DevOps, and development teams to improve developer workflows and self-service capabilities. Develop scalable frontend and backend components using React, TypeScript, and Node.js. Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native infrastructure to support platform deployment and operations. Troubleshoot performance, integration, and deployment issues within the Backstage ecosystem. Contribute to platform architecture, security, and best practices. Required Skills & QualificationsStrong hands-on experience with Backstage.io platform development and customization. Proficiency in:TypeScriptReact.jsNode.jsExperience building custom Backstage plugins and integrations. Strong understanding of platform engineering and developer experience concepts. Knowledge of microservices architecture and REST APIs. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
