The work supports a mission-critical operational platform.Role And ResponsibilitiesMaintaining and modernising a mission-critical .NET application — a mixed VB.NET and C# codebase running on IIS / Windows Server, with integrations across SQL Server, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Excel VBA macros, Power Automate, and BI tools. A partial VB.NET to C# migration is in progress. There is a hard deadline tied to a live operational milestone — it does not move.Maintain and extend the existing VB.NET and C# codebaseContinue the partial VB.NET to C# migration pragmatically — modernise where it matters, leave what's stable aloneBuild and optimise SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and integrationsDeliver against a hard deadline with minimal onboardingJob Requirements8+ years .NET experience — BOTH VB.NET and C# required, this is non-negotiableCurrent VB.NET use within the last 12 months — primary screen, no exceptionsPragmatic with legacy codebases — knows what to modernise vs what to leave aloneStrong SQL Server: queries, stored procedures, optimisationNice To HavePrior experience working alongside teams based in the US, Canada, or EuropePrior partial-migration or modernisation project experienceMission-critical or safety-sensitive application backgroundPlease note we are unable to offer employer sponsorship for this role.Accessibility StatementWe make an active choice to be inclusive towards everyone every day.
