Decentralized Software Engineer - Fullstack
About the Company
DevDocs hires developers to build documentation and docs tooling for clients like Qualcomm, American Express, and C3 AI.
We don't hire writers, and we don't just crank out docs: our close-knit team is full of technical experts who can deeply understand a client's products, consult on their problems, then design tools and systems to automate their docs processes (and write the most important docs).
About the Role
We're looking for a Decentralized Software Engineer – Full Stack who enjoys reasoning about distributed systems, coordination, and state. This role is for someone who likes learning new domains, contributing across the stack, and building systems where correctness and clarity matter.
Our work touches decentralized technologies beyond typical blockchain models. Experience with distributed or decentralized systems (including ecosystems like Hyperledger) is particularly relevant. Deep specialization isn't required; curiosity and strong fundamentals are.
What You'll Do
Build and evolve full-stack systems that interact with decentralized or distributed components
Work across frontend and backend to support complex system behavior
Reason through coordination, data flow, and state modeling challenges
Collaborate closely with a small team to explore and refine architectural approaches
Learn new tools, languages, and paradigms as the problem space evolves
What We're Looking For
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Full-stack experience using TypeScript and/or Java
Interest in distributed or decentralized systems
Exposure to Hyperledger / Hyperledger Labs is a plus
Familiarity with functional programming concepts
Haskell experience is a plus
Daml interest or exposure is a bonus
Positive energy, curiosity, and comfort working through ambiguity
Why This Role
You'll help shape how DevDocs approaches decentralized systems, contribute to meaningful technical decisions, and build software that supports real work all while growing with a thoughtful, collaborative team.
How We Work
Fully remote
Sustainable pace — no grind culture
High trust and shared ownership
Space to learn and grow
