Overhead Crane Inspector & Repair Technician

POSITION SUMMARY: Pro Industrial, LLC, a division of Borsheim Crane Service, is seeking a skilled and safety-driven Overhead Crane Inspector and Repair Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining overhead cranes and hoist systems for clients across multiple industries. The position requires significant travel (up to 85%) and frequent work at heights, making it ideal for candidates who thrive in hands-on, technical environments and enjoy being on the road. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: · Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on overhead cranes, hoists, and related equipment in compliance with OSHA and manufacturer standards. · Accurately document inspection results, service reports, and repair recommendations. · Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and structural crane issues and implement effective solutions. · Safely work at heights on cranes, runways, and structural supports. · Travel extensively (up to 85%) to customer sites throughout the region, with occasional overnight stays required. · Communicate professionally with customers to explain inspection results, necessary repairs, and service recommendations. · Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. · Other duties as assigned by the Division Manager. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: · NCCCO Crane Inspector Certification or equivalent training is a plus (or willingness to obtain). · High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical/electrical fields preferred. · Prior experience as a crane technician, inspector, millwright, or in industrial maintenance strongly preferred. · Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. · Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and inspection criteria. · Must be comfortable and capable of working at heights on a regular basis. · Willingness and ability to travel up to 85% of the time. · Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. · Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: · Standing/Walking: Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, and balance on elevated surfaces. · Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds. · Climbing: Regularly required to climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 20 feet. · Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, reach, grasp, and operate tools and equipment. · Vision: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. · Hearing/Speech: Ability to hear warning signals, radio communications, and verbal instructions in noisy industrial environments. · Environment: Exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, confined spaces, dust, grease, and varying weather conditions.
