LTS Special Education Teacher

Assignment Length: Remainder of 2025-2026 school yearJob Summary:This position will evaluate students for special education eligibility; provide direct service to the needs of special education students; provide a summary of formal and informal assessments; attend evaluation team meetings; administer a variety of standardized tests as well as observe student(s) to determine current levels of performance on a short-term basis.Responsibilities:Evaluates students for special education eligibility.Provides direct service to the needs of special education students.Prepares reports of formal and informal assessments.Attends and participates in evaluation team meetings.Administers a variety of standardized tests.Using a variety of evaluation tools and observation, determines current levels of performance and future potential for improved performance.Prepares and maintains documentation for Case Management.Participates in the IEP process, FBAs and behavior intervention plans.Provides direct service to students both in and out of the classroom.Helps students overcome behavioral challenges.Qualifications:Experience:Knowledge of Elementary School education.Case Management; ability to write IEPs, FBAs and behavior intervention plans.Must be able to provide direct service to students both in and out of the classroom.Must be able to physically provide classroom control.Certification & Licensing:Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
