Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.The Opportunity Our USGO Appalachia Region Operations team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Pennsylvania to support Waynesburg/Delmont CS in PA.We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic who has knowledge and experience to diagnose trouble, dismantle, repair, assemble, and perform scheduled maintenance on controls, engines, compressors, auxiliary, and various other types of compressor station equipment.This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skillsWhat You’ll DoCompile or furnish information for miscellaneous reports and formsWork from blueprints and construction drawingsInspect for gas leaks and assist in maintaining safety equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and overhaul of engines using micrometers, dial indicators, and miscellaneous hand toolsTroubleshoot automatic control systems (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic), locating defective parts and correcting troublePossess an in-depth understanding of the entire facility in order to operate, repair, train, and develop othersAssist in assigning duties and monitoring operations and reports to supervisor when requiredManage contractors and vendors while on-site Adhere to environmental policies by collecting samplesFollow appropriate reporting procedures as it pertains to the associated cleanup of spills Assist in the compilation of shipping manifestsAssist in planning of work and participate as necessary in safety and/or team meetings and discussionsCoordinate with gas control regarding the scheduling of maintenance to ensure operation of facility is at peak at all timesPerform valve and operator maintenance Test overpressure protection devices and unit controls in accordance with recommended guidelinesOrder/reorder necessary parts and supplies Test and inspect lubricating systemsConduct NDI/NDT and ultrasonic testing when necessaryExecute all planned preventative maintenance on prime movers or other equipment such as web deflections, bump checks, crank shaft alignments, etc. Compile station operating budget and various annual operating reportsComplete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAPOther tasks as required Assist with construction and replacement of new and existing linesPatrol pipeline, repair leaks, dig and backfill ditches and bell holesCoat and lay pipeInstall anodes and gatesOperate equipment, such as: power winch, pneumatic tools (pavement breakers, jack hammers and tampers), tapping machine, and water pumps and using hand tools, such as: picks, shovels, pipe and ratchet wrenches, dies, pipe cutters, etc.)Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentWorking knowledge of operations and maintenance of gas engines, compressors, automatic control equipment, gas engine driven electric power plants, pumps, and other auxiliary equipment operated by internal combustion enginesAbility to understand piping operating drawingsRelevant natural gas or energy industry experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience in maintaining and troubleshooting large-bore reciprocating enginesKnowledge of internal combustion engines, centrifugal gas compressors, and standby generatorsIndustrial experience in a plant environmentThis position requires candidates toHave and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving recordSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcoholtestingBe subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposesBe subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperaturesBe confined-space trainedPass respiratory fit test and use equipment such as SCBA and other respiratorsTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from homeDriving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position.
